The Truth about 'Black Henna'.

A Thank You to the Capitol Height's Masjid for their help and support of "Amina Henna Designs". I meet some very beautiful Sister's during the "Eid' celebration this year and enjoyed doing their henna. One note to all you henna lovers: I want to set the record straight and inform everyone there is no such thing as 'black henna'. Please note most people who use anything saying it's black henna are using a hair dye which comes in a powder form and you add water to activate it. It contains a chemical called 'PPD', which can cause a very harmful allergic reaction.PLEASE READ: http://www.vashonorganics.com/education_center/consumer-alert-black-henna-tattoos-can-cause-serious-skin-reactions/
I make my own henna cones which contain only essential oils and lemon juice. So please think twice about getting the black hair dye applied to your skin. Henna comes in tones of orange-burgundy to a deep raisin brown but never never black.
I hope to continue to bring you my henna tattoo designs. I will be traveling soon and will also post some free henna designs.
Peace and One Love

The Joy of Mehndi Henna Art this summer...

This summer has really been so much fun doing Mehndi in Washington, DC and Maryland. I had no idea so many women were into temporary tattoo body art.
the beautiful henna feet and hand designs along with small pretty shoulder and back Mehndi designs are very popular. I am sure because of our life style here in America, the more simple elegant designs work well.
I give thanks to all my happy customers and look forward to continuing my love of Henna Body Art and craft of Mehndi.
